Scientific Research websites provide a valuable tool for researchers to share scientific information with others across the internet. This page is a resource for other researchers developing their own pages. I will post tips and notes to help answer questions that may arise from the Stowers Institute research community.

Q:Can I import existing pages from a previous site?
A: Yes, from the menu bar select File - Open (navigate to your web file) - Open. Select Save from the toolbar.

Q:Can I edit pages outside of Contribute?
Yes, from the menu bar select  File - Actions - Edit page source in external Application.

Q:Where Did my web page go?
A:This happens when you create a webpage with no links to it. In Publish mode click "Choose" in the toolbar and select your page.

Q:How do I save a page as a new page (or overwriting my homepage)

A: - Open the page you want to save in Publish mode.
Then go to the Menu bar  - File - New Page - Copy of current page. Enter the title.
Then Publish and name the page "somename.htm".

If the page you want to "save as" already exists you must either delete or rename/delete the existing page. For example you may want to replace index.html with a new page. When you try to save using the method above you get an error "The filename you entered already exists. Please enter a different filename."

To correct this you must first open the index.html page in Publish mode. Then from the menu bar go to File - Actions - Delete Page. This will delete your current index.html. You may then proceed to your new page and save it as index.html using the above method.
