After submitting a SIRIS ticket requesting a widefield training, the process will take place in two parts. The first training will be on one of the Microscopy Center's widefield systems using standard training slides. It will be focused on gaining a foundational knowledge of microscopy. Next, a follow-up session will be scheduled to review the widefield training and determine imaging parameters specific to your sample and imaging needs. Each of the training sessions will last 2-3 hours with the goal of helping you become an excellent Microscopy Center user. |

After submitting a SIRIS ticket requesting a confocal training, the process will take place in three parts. You will first be given a widefield training to gain a foundational knowledge of microscopy (unless you have already had a widefield training). Next, you will be trained on one of our general confocal systems using standard training slides. Finally, a follow-up session will be scheduled to review your knowledge of operating a microscope and optimize imaging parameters specific to your experiment. Prior to the follow up training we ask that users complete a follow up form. The purpose of this document is to familiarize your trainer with the goals of your experiment and to engage you in thinking about certain aspects of imaging that can improve the quality of your future data. Each of the training sessions will last 2-3 hours with the goal of helping you become an excellent Microscopy Center user. |

| Advanced trainings offered by the Stowers Microscopy Center include, but are not limited to; super-resolution, 2-photon, APD (Avalance Photo Diode detrators), spectral, multipositional, and live imaging, correlation spectroscopy, FRET, FLIM, FLIP, FRAP, photoactivation, and established methods of cuvette spectroscopy. These trainings can all be requested by submitting a training ticket for the Micrscopy Center in SIRIS. You can either note the specific training needed in the Additional Details field or check the appropriate box provided in the ticket. We are also glad to work with members of the institute to setup any experiments not included in the list above. |
